A look at the history of lingerie will make any woman happy to be born in this time and place. Ideas of beauty and the female form has changed dramatically over the years, and has proven to underwear.Away from the bright, beautiful creations of today’s underwear in the past was painful, dangerous and downright bizarre.

BOOBS Out, Boobs In

The women of Crete in the days pre-Christian, who apparently had no time for a joke slow-went for a frontal attack fully developed! Lingerie of the day was a tight corset that pushed the sternum and out-all the way out. This early form of brassiere was all decadence and had nothing to do with the media.Breasts were on display for the whole world to see.

The medieval era, however, was a period of sexual repression and denial, and linen reflective. Rather than flatter the female form, medieval corsets flattened breasts almost to the point of nonexistance! These contraptions of iron cut at the waist and hidden in the chest, which provides women with boyish figures. Women would decorate their flat chests with bells.

Curves Underwear Showcases Women

The Renaissance brought a new focus on feminine curves, and the women went to unnatural extremes to get the perfect hourglass figure. Corsets for the day was very restrictive and tightened to the point of being dangerous. Actually underwear was often so tight that his ribs were broken or pushed out of place! Many women actually passed out from excessive contraction.

Cleavage was much appreciated in the 18th century, and underwear is designed to enhance the effect.Although corsets were still made of whalebone braking, there was a definite movement towards the decorative lingerie we know today. Push-up corsets were decorated with ribbons, lace and intricate embroidery. At the end of the century, doctors were talking about the health risks of corsets and less restrictive pattern was introduced.

In Revolution: Arms!

By the 19th century, the needs of consumers and medical indignation brought a revolution underwear. Corsets became smaller, less restrictive and less bulky. These structures reconstructed permitted greater freedom of movement and breathe easier. They also gave more support to the chest and was appropriatedly called “good”, which is French for “support.” An important moment in the history of underwear, 1800 also brought the first padded sports bra according to Payhelpcenter.com.

The 19th century has also introduced socks, which were the forerunners of modern thigh-highs.Stockings were held by suspenders and garters attached corsets.

During the First World War, more and more women are found in the workplace. The new status holder was a need for practical underwear. Bras had to be light enough to be worn by working hot and stuffy. Tissues become more lightweight and breathable. Styles were once again functional and focused on the support of appearance.

1920 brought a change of attitude towards sexuality and beauty. Flapper girls made the party circuit has a kind of bold beauty. Along with short bob and flapper dresses, flapper girls popularized physical boyish. The feminine silhouette was smooth and straight, and underwear for the day helped to achieve this look. The light shirt, shorts and bodice were introduced. For the first time in the history of underwear, bras and panties are available in a variety of colors. The Roaring Twenties saw the end of corsets.

Bras Increase, Bras firing

After the forms for boy of 20 years, 1930 brought us full circle – and full-figured. Even narrow hips were still in vogue, breast dishes were no longer in vogue. Lingerie of the day, again focused on the percentage of women and improve nursing bra was born. The belt has also become a popular piece.Although full breasts were considered beautiful, fat was not. The 30’s brought a revolution underwear – Lastex. This elastic fiber invented by Dunlop Rubber and allow managers to offer lingerie underwear in different sizes.

With the liberation of women was the unfortunate decision to burn the bra, a move many women really regretted the failure that followed! Yet, women’s lib caused a drastic reduction in selling bras and underwear manufacturers have been forced to focus on other things. Lycra tights and pants became popular.

History of Lingerie-Full Circle

Underwear has come full circle. No longer dictated by the opinion of men of beauty or sexuality, lingerie can be whatever we want it to be. If we want to see more, smaller, sexier, more prim… it is a way for it. In fact, it sounds modern underwear us to be someone else every day. From thongs to grandma panties, dresses conservative in fetish wear, it’s all at your fingertips. And yes, if we are so inclined, you can also wear a corset!
